Songfacts®:

  • Jason DeRulo got his fans to help him pen the lyrics for this song. He told Ryan Seacrest: "I started writing the song, but I left a bunch of lines blank and the fans have been helping me fill in the lines." DeRulo added: "There were lots of great, great lines. It made the process a little difficult. Thankfully, I had a lot of help to whittle it down to a number that I could actually look at. There were tons and tons of great stuff, but we got it down and I believe we came up with the best product!"
  • On January 6, 2012, while Derülo was rehearsing for his Future History Tour, he broke one of his neck vertebrae. This was the first new song to be released by him since his injury.
  • DeRulo debuted the song during the May 22, 2012 finale of American Idol. It was the singer's first post-neck injury television performance.
