• Timucin Aluo is a London-based singer-songwriter and DJ, who records under the name of Jax Jones. He first came to the fore when he supplied guest vocals on Duke Dumont's UK chart-topping 2014 single "I Got U."
• The song features guest vocals from Jones' fellow South Londoner Raye, who previously visited the UK singles chart when she sung on Jonas Blue's 2016 Top 20 hit "By Your Side." Raye also co-penned Charli XCX's "Hanging Around" single.
  
  "This track is so simple," said Jones. "It's just one of those that works better for not throwing the kitchen sink at it. At the end of the first day of writing with RAYE (a genius), Jin Jin (the other co-writer and another genius) and I (occasionally been called a genius - usually by my mum) just had a bassline and the song mapped out."
• The song is a sassy kiss off to fake friends and hangers on:

  "The vocal was inspired by a lot of bashment and general bravado as we were having a lot of fun and feeling good that day in the studio," Jones said.
• After mapping out the song on the first day, Jones spent the next day writing and experimenting with different basslines. However they weren't quite doing what he needed, so eventually he co-opted the bassline of M.A.N.D.Y vs Booka Shade's 2005 track "Body Language." Jones explained:
  
  "I've always been obsessed with the Booka Shade and M.A.N.D.Y. 'Body Language' track – it's been a staple in my DJ sets - so I tried it and it was lit. Fitted perfectly.
  
  We approached them and I was honoured when they gave me approval to use their notes. Bringing their classic techno sound to our new house setting is a total joy for me as I always want to show the audience today who the teachers of the music who inspired me are."
• Having found success as a guest artist with Duke Dumont, Jax Jones was looking for a hit of his own. "I was trying to find the perfect kind of record that could fit well in the clubs and be something you could have on radio, which is notoriously difficult in house music, because there's a lot of chin strokers and gate keepers you have to please," he told Billboard magazine. "We hooked up with Raye. She's a genius in the studio, and her voice is amazing. It just came really easy."
• The Jax Jones and Raye collaboration was fuelled by alcohol. "We got in a room, had a few G&Ts and it just happened," Jones told the BBC. "I think all great dance music should occur in a fun atmosphere. The next thing you know, it was a Top 5 record."
• Raye told The Sun that she had a fight to be the vocalist on this tune. "The label loved the song and wanted to make it a single but for someone else to sing on," she said. "I was like, 'Hell f--king no!' I'm so lucky I wrote it because they would have given it to someone else."
