Songfacts®:

  • The lead single from Trap or Die 3, this is the ninth track on the album. Jeezy told Genius he initially intended the tune to open the record.

"Originally, we thought about that being the intro to Trap or Die 3, but I thought it was too musical be an intro, but I wanted it to be the message. Like, set the tone. So even when I wrote it, I was like, 'I'm going to put this out first.'"
  • Jeezy wrote the thug-motivating track after feeling on top of the world

Woke up this mornin' feelin' like Rocky
Back to myself, yeah I'm mother---n' cocky

    He explained:

"I was like, 'Yo, man. Enough with the bulls--t. Who better than me with this s--t?' If this is what y'all wanna talk about; you're not going to talk about the trap and not mention me. There's no way.

I woke up feeling like Rocky. Let me go to the studio. I just went in there and penned it up."
  • Jeezy explained the message he was attempting to get across with the track:

"I felt niggas was getting lazy. They was winning by default. It was just like, whatever. It can't be like that with this. This is us. This is who we are. So I'm going to let y'all know."
