Songfacts®:

  • This song is about a man who cheats during a moment of weakness, and is now left to wait for the blow up. To his surprise, his girl does not confront him, and he's left hanging.
  • This is one of this group's heavier songs. The man's youthful indiscretion catches up to him years later, in the form of a child he never knew he had. >>>

  • Kat from LaAfter decades of contemplating the meaning, he cheats. But he says "caught up IN HERE" under false pretenses. He married her because she was pregnant, or she lied about it, or the kid isn't his, and there's no way out even after she knows he cheated. He stuck with her. He cheated to see what would happen, and he realizes nothing will happen. He's stuck.
  • Louis from WiltonThis song was written by Peter Wolf and his then-wife Kristina (Ina) Wolf. Funny enough, if you find their appearance on Solid Gold on YouTube, Peter is playing a red keyboard and looks so stoked to be "performing" with the band. Great song.
  • Pete from NhI’m 54 and the same age as China Kantner. If the blonde in this video was China, she would have been around 13 years old. I can’t find out who it is so my best guess is it’s Grace with a blonde wig.
  • Susy from Nashville TennesseeI have always liked this song and even the video. It’s actually one of the better ones that the Starship era recorded.

I did feel like some of the older “Airplane” members were too judgmental and a bit hypocritical towards their later success.
  • Caligula from Somewhere In Minnesota The Priestly Character in Jefferson Starship "No Way Out" Is Father Guido Sarducci And I will Pray for Him ! And it's Wednesday April 7th 2021
  • G. Pollock from Windber, PaThe woman who plays the wife is NOT China Kantner. She would have been 13 at the time. The resemblance is close though.
  • Brent from Denair, CaThe priest is Father Guido Sarducci (played by Don Novello, a common character in Saturday Night Live of the 70's and 80's episodes). Yes, he was in the Casper movie.
  • Wendell from Milton, PeThis song is an interesting case of selective amnesia. The girl knows he has cheatedbut lets it slide. The video is quite appropriate. He has more guilt by her ignoring it then he ever would with a direct confrontation.
  • Linc from Beaumont, TxIn this video - the priestly character - is strangely similar to the priest who comes to bless Casper's House in the movie Casper...wierd!
This video is so '80s - pumping iron in bed! I mean we're Magnum PI - suprised he's not in here with the Miami Vice enterouge and Molly Ringwald!
  • B-man from Detroit, MiThe girl who plays Mickey's wife is China Kantner, daughter of Grace Slick and Paul Kantner. She went on later to become an MTV vj.
