Songfacts®:

  • When we asked Jeffrey Gaines in 2011 if "Always Be" is about a real person, he confirmed for us that it was. As for who that person is and how their relationship worked out, Gaines replied: "She and Tom Brady seemed to have worked out just fine."

Tom Brady, the famous quarterback for the New England Patriots, married the supermodel Gisele Bündchen in 2009. So while Brady has won three Super Bowls and two league MVP awards, he's unlikely to deliver anything as moving as what Gaines tells her in the closing lyrics: "You will always have this song, you will see, you and me will always be."
  • Always Be was Gaines' fourth album, which in the United States was released on Artemis Records. It renewed interest in Gaines thanks to the inclusion of two popular cover songs: "In Your Eyes" and "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face."
