Songfacts®:

  • This was originally recorded by Ellen Shipley and released on her 1983 album Call Of The Wild. Her version didn't go anywhere, but the song became a minor hit for Jennifer Rush when she released it in 1987. Desmond Child, who sang backup on the original, suggested the song to Rush and produced her version.
  • They say time heals all wounds, but the girl in this song finds her heart still bleeds for the man who broke it. In her head, she wants him out of her life, but she just can't resist his charms.

Ellen Shipley wrote the song with her producer, Morrie Brown. "It's like someone looking into someone's eyes and that feeling that you get and then you 'come undone,'" Shipley told Songfacts. "It wasn't meant to be sexual. It was meant like you fall apart and fall into somebody."
