Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single by American pop/R&B singer-songwriter Jessica Jarrell, from her debut album. The Los Angeles-based artist has been a working singer and child model since the age of two. In the summer of 2010 she joined fellow teen Island star Justin Bieber on his first headlining North American tour before releasing this song. Elsewhere, Jessica can be heard on "Overboard," a duet with Justin from his My World 2.0 album.
  • The song was produced by The Monarch, a music production duo based out of Orlando, Florida consisting of Dre and Sean D. Their other credits include "Kiss and Tell" from Justin's My World 2.0 album as well as Mario's hit single, "Thinkin' About You."
  • Jessica draws inspiration for her lyrics from her family, teenage experiences at school and in her budding music career - as well as her daydreams. "Words are spinning in my head," she said about the 'old soul' perspective of her writing. "I hope everyone can have fun listening to it, but I hope everyone will learn something because they can relate to what I'm singing about too!"
  • Jessica also recorded a remix featuring rap interludes from Travie McCoy, who is the MC of the alternative hip-hop group Gym Class Heroes.
