Album: Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)

Songfacts®:

  • This slow jam plays during the 50 Shades of Grey movie in the scene where Ana and Christian walk in on her roommate and his brother making out. Jessie Ware didn't have the E.L. James story in mind when she wrote the track, intending it for her sophomore album, Tough Love. Though it didn't make it onto the record, Fifty Shades music director Dana Santo and his colleagues liked its soothing vibe and took it on board.
  • The song is about making compromises in a fading relationship and was penned by Ware in a decidedly un-Fifty Shades-like writing session: "I kind of wrote it just writing for my album in the living room in a very, very unsexy situation," she told MTV News, "like I was eating and writing sad songs."
