Songfacts®:

  • "I'll Be There" is a lively, bilingual pop-rock tune with a rockabilly twist, radiating pure joy and devotion. The song is Jin's love letter to ARMY, his fanbase.

"When ARMY feel tired and lonely, I hope this song gives them strength," Jin shared in a video interview with Dolby Atmos. "I have a very clear idea of what kind of emotions I want to share with our fans. I want our fans, our ARMY, to be happy."
  • Jin co-produced the track with American singer-songwriter Max, best known for his 2016 hit "Lights Down Low."

Max first connected with BTS through rapper Suga on social media, leading to several collaborations. Max appeared on Suga's track "Burn It" in 2020, contributed a Korean verse to BTS' "Blueberry Eyes" the same year, and joined Suga on stage in Los Angeles during the D-DAY tour in May 2023.
  • Released on October 25, 2024, "I'll Be There" serves as the lead single from Happy, Jin's first solo mini-album and his first release since completing mandatory military service in June 2024. With six tracks, Happy is, as Jin describes, "a journey to discover true happiness."
  • The music video for "I'll Be There" captures Jin's rock star vibe as he performs with a band under a bridge against an open sky. Dressed in a cardigan, plaid shirt and jeans, Jin's casual look is punctuated by face piercings, adding an edge. As the video unfolds, skaters and passersby gather, drawn to the impromptu show. By the finale, Jin is rocking out with air guitar, dancing and running down a sunlit street, his exuberance matching the track's infectious energy.
  • Happy debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200. This meant all seven BTS members had hit the album chart's Top 10 as soloists.
