Songfacts®:

  • The second single from Joe Jonas' debut solo album, Fastlife, was premiered at 12:01AM ET September 9 on www.RyanSeacrest.com. It was made digitally available on September 13, 2011.
  • Joe Jonas co-wrote the song with James Fauntleroy, who also has writing credits on hits by Jordin Sparks ("No Air") and Rihanna ("Te Amo"). It was produced by Rob Knox who also was the co-knob twiddler on T.I.'s "Dead and Gone."
  • The Jaci Judelson directed video was filmed in Paris, France. Joe told MTV News about the French model who is his leading lady on the clip. "She's really sweet," he said. "She lives in Paris. Her name's Angèle. Really great, really nice. We were really comfortable with each other on camera."
  • According to filmmaking brothers Mark and Michael Polish, the video bears a suspiciously close resemblance to their 2010 indie film For Lovers Only, and the siblings accused Joe and director Jaci Judelson of recreating specific scenes from their movie. "It's very disheartening that a fellow director would go to those lengths to copy For Lovers Only and not credit us," Mark Polish told TheWrap.com. "If they had said our film was their inspiration, we would have been flattered," he added. "But nowhere in any of their materials do they say that we were an influence on them, which is upsetting to us as artists. And it makes this feel like plagiarism."
  • Lil Wayne contributes a raunchy verse to the remix, with enough swearing to earn it a Parental Advisory sticker. So how did the Disney boy band member end up collaborating with the bawdy rapper? Joe called into On Air with Ryan Seacrest to explain he met Weezy, "three years ago when Russell Brand was hosting the VMAs. I remember walking up to him and saying, 'Hello Mr. Lil' Wayne, I'm Joe Jonas,' and he's like 'JONASSSSS!!!' Ever since then I told him that I wanted to work together someday if it makes sense, and then this project came along."
