Songfacts®:

  • Satriani wrote this instrumental as a love song for his wife, Rubina.
  • This song ended up sounding very different from how Satriani originally envisioned it. "I thought it would be a very deep, lush, echo-y kind of a thing," the guitarist said in our 2015 interview. "When we got to the studio, it turned out that all those arpeggios sounded better completely dry and direct, and that all the drum performances that Jeff Campitelli had played on actually didn't fit, and we wound up not using like, 99 percent of the drums. All we wound up using is the kick drum in the bridge."
  • John Dahl directed the video for this song, which showed a wind-swept Satriani performing it in a desert landscape. The video was included in the 1992 Satriani documentary The Satch Tapes.
