  • Joel Corry started DJing when he was 13 years old. He found national recognition a decade later as Sophie Kasaei's boyfriend on the MTV British reality television series Geordie Shore. Corry later earned his own radio show on KISS FM and took the helm at a gym and leisurewear company called Most Rated.
  • This tropical house banger is a cover of Monsta Boy featuring Denzie's garage tune "Sorry (I Didn't Know)," which reached #25 in the UK in 2000. Corry's version features uncredited vocals from Hayley May.
  • The song rocketed up the Official Singles Chart as a result of its appearance on the dating reality show Love Island. It played during the episode broadcast on July 24, 2019 when the islanders are preparing for a party.
  • "Sorry" broke the UK record for the most-Shazamed track in one day, with 41,000 Shazams on July 24, 2019.
  • Joel Corry had worked with Hayley May on his previous two singles, "Fallen" and "Good As Gold," so the singer was his first port of call for "Sorry." He messaged May and asked her to sing the hook back to him over Whatsapp. Corry liked what he heard so he booked her into the studio the following week.
  • Hayley May had a rough start when it came to the spotlight. Back in 2013 she took a shot at the fame game by auditioning for Series 7 of Britain's Got Talent. She was 28 at the time, working as an Admin Officer.

Things didn't go as planned during her audition. She chose to sing "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)," but nerves got the best of her and she couldn't even finish the song. At least two judges gave her a "no" vote, sending Hayley packing.
