Album: released as a single (1971)

Songfacts®:

  • "José" in this song, pronounced Joe-Say, is a girl. Miles sings from the perspective of a guy trying to assuage any doubts about their evening together - who cares where this is going when he can count the stars in her eyes?

It was the second release by John Miles as a solo artist (following "Why Don't You Love Me") and his first on the Decca label. Written by Jonathan King and backed by his own composition "You Make It So Hard," it was released as a promo on July 9, 1971.
  • Uptempo and running to 3 minutes 4 seconds, this has more of a Jonathan King feel to it than a John Miles one, but of course he went on to far bigger and greater things. It was produced by Danny Beckett and arranged by Cy Payne. >>>
