  • Here, Jon Pardi finds himself stuck in a pursue-withdraw cycle with a love interest.

Everyone is the first last time
Walk away, then, we hit rewind
A little touch, a little buzz
Don't know what keeps keepin' it up

"The song talks about the push and pull in a relationship," Pardi explained to American Songwriter. "To know if you should come back again, or wonder 'is this gonna work out?' I want it to work out, but then it doesn't work out. That feeling of the unknown that is a part of the attraction that brings you back for some reason."
  • Musically, the song is a '70s-inspired weekend jam. "It has really cool chords and a really cool style to it," said Pardi. "I definitely wanted the claps and the drum tracks on it. The drums drive the song and you want to move with it and you want to flow with it."
  • Jon Pardi recorded "Your Heart Or Mine" for Mr. Saturday Night. The singer co-produced the album with Bart Butler and Ryan Gore, whom he worked with on his previous release, Heartache Medication, in 2019.
  • Bart Butler co-wrote the song with Nashville songwriter Justin Ebach (Jordan Davis' "Singles You Up," Brett Young's "Here Tonight") and singer-songwriter John Pierce (Zac Brown Band's "Sweet Annie," Reba McEntire's "Freedom").
  • Filmed in the colonial-era city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, the Carlos Ruiz-directed cinematic video also features former Miss World Peru, Paula Montes.

"The town is full of color and life, and I think the video really captures that," shared Pardi.
