  • Jordan Davis is an American country-pop singer and songwriter who blends traditional country elements with pop influences, creating a catchy and contemporary sound. His songwriting often focuses on relatable themes like love, family, and everyday life.
  • Davis comes from a musical family. His father filled the house with song while his mother Luwanna played piano in church. He grew up surrounded by melody, a foundation that would later blossom into his own songwriting talent.
  • His uncle, Stan Paul Davis, who had carved a path in Nashville, further amplified this influence. "Better Man, Better Off" and "Today's Lonely Fool," both penned by his uncle for Tracy Lawrence, became early examples of what a well-crafted song could achieve. "My uncle being here in town, from an early age, I was around really talented songwriters," Davis remarked to American Songwriter of his uncle's impact. "I don't think I realized how much that was helping me become a better songwriter. That was a huge influence on me."
  • After graduating from Louisiana State University in 2011 with a degree in Environmental Science, Davis went to work for an environmental group in Baton Rouge that dealt with residential erosion problems. "It was very much all over the board in environmental work. It's something that I have a passion for, and believe in a better world for tomorrow," he stated to Billboard.
  • Davis moved to Nashville to pursue his music career in 2012. His early days in Music City weren't glamorous. Tending bar at Ellendale's, Davis encountered future labelmate Eric Paslay, who bestowed some helpful advice: "He gave me the tip, 'Keep at it, man. Hang in there,'" Davis recalled.
  • Davis heeded Paslay's advice, honing his songwriting skills until he got a publishing deal with ole (which later became Anthem Entertainment) in 2015. UMG Nashville took notice and signed Davis up as an artist the following year. His 2017 debut single, "Singles You Up," introduced Davis to the public and laid the foundation for a string of hits.
  • Davis garnered his first Country #1 when "Buy Dirt" climbed to the top of the chart dated January 29, 2022. It went on to win Song Of The Year at the 2022 CMA Awards.
  • Jordan Davis married Kristen O'Connor in March 2017. She was his muse for love songs like "Selfish," "Detours," "Lose You" and "What My World Spins Around."
  • His brother, Jacob Davis, is a singer-songwriter too. Their collaborations include "Take It From Me" "Detours," "Buy Dirt" and "Tucson Too Late."
  • He's a big fan of the LSU Tigers football team. "Obviously, you grow up in Louisiana, you're a Tiger fan," Davis said.
  • Jordan Davis stays active on tour with basketball, pickleball, and golf, but don't expect him to go easy on you. This guy's got a competitive streak a mile wide!

"We are playing pickleball half for exercise, because nobody wants to go do cardio, so you might as well play something while you're getting cardio in," he admitted. "The other half is, I am trying to absolutely crush every other person on the other side of that net. I am competitive. I like to win. I don't like to lose, and it boils over sometimes. We have to have some sitdowns in the greenroom and be like, 'Hey-I didn't really mean that.' It boils over on the golf course. If I'm gonna do something, I want to win at it."
