• According to The Complete Lyrics Of Cole Porter (which was edited by Robert Kimball), "I've A Shooting Box In Scotland" was published in February 1916, and was the first of his compositions to be recorded commercially, by Joseph C. Smith and his Orchestra. It was introduced in Paranoia by Newbold Noyes and Rufus F. King. A parody version was recalled by Rex Benson, a friend of Porter, who said Porter often referred to the song as "Shooting Pains In Scotland" - which became the title of the parody.
  
  Written in 2/4 time, it was copyrighted 1916 by G. Schirmer, renewed and assigned to same, 1944, and 1999 by Warner Brothers.
