Songfacts®:

  • The first single from Josh Turner's sixth album finds him singing of wanting to get out of town and escaping from everyday life. The song was written by Tony Martin and Mark Nesler, who also co-penned Turner's "Time Is Love." The third songwriter was Ross Copperman whose other credits are Kenny Chesney's "Pirate Flag" and Justin Moore's "Point At You."
  • Turner told Rolling Stone Country that when he first heard the track he was transported to his cabin in South Carolina where he and his wife Jennifer can escape and lie low. "[The song] painted a mental picture of our cabin and how secluded it is," he said. "It's where we go to get away from it all and reconnect with each other, to be reminded of what's most important."

"Laying low is something Jennifer and I love to do," he continued. "We most always have to make the time to do it, because as you can imagine, we don't just have ample amounts of idle time."
  • The song's music visual was directed by Trey Fanjoy, who has twice won the CMT Video Of The Year award for her clips for Taylor Swift's "Our Song" and "Love Story." The couple that was cast in the visual are in fact together in real-life.

The clip was shot in a 200-year-old rustic cabin in Rock Island, Tennessee, two hours outside of Nashville. Fanjoy felt it was ideal to visually convey the song's message. "Interesting, too, there's a line in the song that says, 'I want to drive so far that I don't have any bars left on my cell phone,' and we don't," she said to Taste of Country with a laugh. "We have not had much cell service out here, so we're kinda livin' it."
  • Josh Turner told Radio.com that he was first attracted to the song by how it talks about the world around us. "We live in such a technological age where everybody's got a phone, everybody's got a computer, there's TVs everywhere you go," he explained. "It's information overload. It can become an addiction easily to be on your phone all the time. You lose sight of what's around you. You lose sight of the ones you love."
