Songfacts®:

  • Judas Priest have recorded songs throughout the band's career in which they encourage and exhort those fans that are going through trials to keep going and not give in. Speaking to Noisey, frontman Rob Halford described their music as a "beacon of hope that no matter what you may be going through in life, there's always a sense of overcoming difficulties, a sense of winning, a sense of coming out on top."

He added that the band have "always tried to push this kind of positive experience in the songs that we make," so this song fits right into that their ball park.

Halford described the track as "a statement" and "a simple fact," which from their "perspective, no matter what you're up against, the greatest thing you can ever do is face that challenge. Overcome it, and win, and never surrender."
  • The band released a statement explaining: "'No Surrender' captures the true metal fighting spirit and metalheads around the world find a united voice within the message of this song. When you honestly believe in yourself and live your life the way you have the right to with no surrender, then nothing will ever stop you from living your dream."
