Songfacts®:

  • This bruised R&B song shines the spotlight on singer and producer Brent Faiyaz, who handles the vocals without an appearance from Juice WRLD.
  • Faiyaz sings about needing strength to overcome personal obstacles.

Can't ever do right, can't lose this fight, I'm already low
I think the demons are winning
I can't ever do right, I can't lose this fight, I'm already low
I think I need new beginnings
  • Juice WRLD does have a writing credit on "Demonz." The track was helmed by Faiyaz, his frequent collaborator, Paperboy Fabe (Ledisi, Jay Rock), and Atu, who is in the group Sonder with Faiyaz.
  • According to Paperboy Fabe, "Demonz" began as a solo track for Faiyaz. It was Juice's A&R Aaron "Dash" Sherrod who wanted to get the song on Death Race for Love. "Dash wanted Brent on the project as an interlude," he explained to Rolling Stone. "Because of what Juice WRLD was talking about in the previous song, it leads right into 'Demonz' - A lot of people have inner darkness that they're trying to overcome."
