Songfacts®:

  • The opening track of A Deathrace For Love follows Juice WRLD's usual theme of angsty anthems as he talks about dealing with heartbreak through taking various drugs and drinking lean.

    Like a crawlspace, it's a dark place I roam
Ain't no right way, just the wrong way I know
    I problem solve with Styrofoam
My world revolves around a black hole

Lean is often drunk from a double styrofoam cup.
  • Deathrace was recorded by Juice in just five days. The rapper was holed up in a LA studio with a rotating stream of producers for 24 hours a day, breaking only to shower.

The production for this song was supplied by Juice's frequent collaborator Nick Mira. He helmed the rapper's breakthrough single "Lucid Dreams (Forget Me)," its follow-up "All Girls Are The Same" and Deathrace's lead track "Robbery."
