Songfacts®:

  • This novelty song is a tribute to the comedy team of the Three Stooges. The band's lead singer, Peter Quinn, mimicks Curly's catchphrases during the choruses. After becoming a local hit in 1983, it attracted the attention of Atlantic Records and was re-released nationally a year later. Unfortunately, this song was Jump 'N the Saddle Band's only hit, as they were dismissed by many as a joke act. However, they continued to perform live in their hometown Chicago for many years.
  • The entire video for this song is made only of clips that came from the Stooges' films. The clips came from the following films: Woman Haters (their first short for Columbia Pictures), Punch Drunks (both 1934), Pop Goes the Easel, Uncivil Warriors, Pardon My Scotch, Three Little Beers (all 1935), Movie Maniacs, Disorder in the Court (both 1936), Cash and Carry (1937), Tassels in the Air, Healthy, Wealthy and Dumb, Violent Is the Word for Curly, Three Missing Links (all 1938), Calling All Curs, Three Sappy People (both 1939), A Plumbing We Will Go, No Census, No Feeling (both 1940), Dutiful but Dumb, An Ache in Every Stake, Some More of Samoa (all 1941), Dizzy Pilots (1943), A Bird in the Head (1946), Dopey Dicks (1950), and The Three Stooges Meet Hercules (1962). >>>
