  • So if you're ready
    And if you'll let me
I wanna see it in motion
    In 3D
    You won't regret me

"3D" is a song about long-distance relationships. Jungkook interacts with his love interest mainly through a 2D phone screen. This feeds the desire to have the third dimension, the dimension they would have if they had physical contact.
  • Jungkook's label Big Hit Music describes "3D" as "a pop R&B track with clever expressions of feelings toward an unattainable person from the perspectives of first, second, and third dimensions."
  • Jack Harlow brings his unique rap style to the track. During his verse, he flexes about pulling multiple Asian baby girls. On the outro he offers to fly a South Korean girl he's gotten to know via his phone to his home state of Kentucky. "I just wanna meet you in the physical and see if you would touch me," he tells her.
  • Jack Harlow, BloodPop and David Stewart wrote the song. Jungkook received lots of tracks as potential follow-ups to his sultry hit "Seven," but he didn't like any of them until he heard this one. "The moment I heard it, I chose it natural," he told Consequence.
  • BloodPop and David Stewart's R&B-tinged production harkens back to early-'00s Western boybands such as 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys, and Justin Timberlake's funky solo material.

Michael "BloodPop" Tucker is an American record producer and songwriter. He has worked with many artists, including Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.

David Stewart (not the Eurythmics co-founder of the same name) is a British record producer and songwriter. He previously worked with Jungkook when he co-wrote and produced BTS' 2020 hit "Dynamite."
  • Jungkook first teased the song when he headlined the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York, on September 23, 2023. He released the single on September 29, 2023.
  • Both "Seven" and "3D" pushed Jungkook into more explicit territory than is previous BTS material. He's unfazed by the mature themes and cussing on this song "There are multiple generations in our ARMY," he noted to Consequence. "I think the song will give them a fun, playful, light shock."
  • Scheduling conflicts prevented Jungkook and Harlow from being together for the track's recording. They finally met on the music video where the two play a game of chess while they perform the song. Jungkook also moves through multiple dimensions against an array of various sets while showcasing his dance moves on a giant white staircase and in the streets.

Drew Kirsch directed the video. He has also worked with Taylor Swift, Shakira and Imagine Dragons.
  • MK (Marc Kinchen) worked his magic on "3D," transforming it into a house dance jam. Jungkook released the American DJ and producer's remix on October 30, 2023.
  • Jungkook released a remix featuring Justin Timberlake on November 24, 2023. The new version omits Jack Harlow's contribution and replaces it with a fresh verse by Timberlake, which he wrote.
