Songfacts®:

  • Look who we are, we are the dreamers
We make it happen, 'cause we believe it

Jungkook recorded "Dreamers" as a part of a promotional album for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The BTS singer promotes the power of positive thinking and the determination to succeed. The footballers taking part in the Qatar tournament are an inspiration to everyone who keeps believing in their dreams.
  • Jungkook sings most of the song in English. The exception is the repeated Arabic line, "Ala ho la dan," which is a local Qatar expression. Arabic sailors used to sing it before setting sail on the Arabian Gulf.
  • Qatari singer and producer Fahad Al-Kubaisi provided the background vocals.
  • Moroccan hitmaker RedOne, who served as Creative Entertainment Executive for FIFA, wrote and produced the inspirational dance jam. RedOne has helped helm signature hits for superstars like Lady Gaga ("Just Dance," "Poker Face"), Nicki Minaj ("Starships"), and Enrique Iglesias ("I Like How It Feels").
  • FIFA released "Dreamers" as a single on November 20, 2022, to coincide with the first match of the World Cup and its opening ceremonies. Jungkook helped launch the tournament with the debut performance of the uplifting anthem at Qatar's Al Bayt Stadium.
  • Within a day of the song's official release, it reached #1 on the iTunes chart in at least 102 different countries and regions, including the US, UK, and Australia.
  • Filmed in Qatar, the music video finds Jungkook touring around the city of Doha and taking in its culture and sights. Al-Kubaisi sings his parts from the deck of a huge sailing vessel.
  • By December 30, 2022, "Dreamers" had amassed over 100 million streams. It achieved the milestone just 35 days after its initial release, becoming the fastest song by a South Korean soloist to reach the landmark.
