Songfacts®:

  • The Changes album marks the end of Justin Bieber's time as a wildchild. Having married Hailey Baldwin, he's now a changed man. On this soothing romantic cut, the Canadian pop star reflects on his change of circumstances.

Never thought I'd settle down, I cannot lie to myself
I was busy focusin' on bein' by myself

Now he's found his life partner, Bieber doesn't want to return to his old life.

Would you be here with me forever, ever, ever?
Wakin' up all alone ain't better, better, better
  • Bieber told Britain's The Sun newspaper this is one of his favorite Changes tracks. "I don't know if you're married or have a special person, but the thought of being with my wife for ever just gives me chills," he explained.
  • The reggae-lite song features guest verses from Clever, who raps on the same theme of a committed relationship, and Post Malone, whose romance seems less stable.

Malone opened up for Bieber on his Purpose Tour, and the pair has a good relationship.
  • This is Justin Bieber's first collaboration with Alabama hip-hop artist Clever. The Biebs previously worked with Post Malone on the Texan's Stoney track "Déjà Vu."
