Songfacts®:

  • This song is in a similar vein to The Moody Blues hit "I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band)." John Lodge, who penned the track, explained to ZigZag magazine December 1976: "It means that everybody else's music is important to me as well. Certainly I sit at home and listen to records of a night, and sometimes people think you don't do that for some strange reason."
  • Lodge and Justin Hayward worked in a French horn part for the song only to find nobody could play the instrument. So violinist Jim Cockey got hold of a book titled How To Play The French Horn and learnt from that.
