Songfacts®:

  • This somber, heartbreaking, Brian Maher, Josh Hoge and Adam Hambrick penned ballad is about the emptiness in the house when a relationship ends. Moore sings it as a duet with his pal Miranda Lambert, but he never thought of recording it with another vocalist until he heard a work tape of the song. "I heard this and for whatever reason, I said, 'Man, I've got to get Miranda on this,'" he said. "I called her and sent it to her, and she was busy and didn't have time to get back to me."

Moore didn't take no for an answer and called Lambert back, insisting that if she would just listen to the song, she'd want to cut it with him. "And she calls me back like three minutes later, she goes, 'Holy crap, it's a great song,'" he recalled. "I said, 'Yeah, I told you.'"
