Songfacts®:

  • Moore penned this song with his producer Jeremy Stover and Brian Dean Maher, who also co-wrote several tracks on Justin Moore. The singer told WSOC radio in Charlotte: "Till My Last Day' is my wife's favorite song on the album and probably the softest thing that I've ever done. It shows a little bit of a different side of me. I'm blessed to have a great wife that supports me, and my music and everything I do. I wasn't always the best boyfriend or husband and this song kind of speaks to that. It's one of the coolest tracks on the album and really features the slide guitar."
  • This is the first track recorded by Moore about his relationship with his wife Kate. She was so touched about Justin's love song to her that she had some of the words engraved on a gift for her husband. "My wedding ring was kind of big on me and slapping people's hands on stage, it almost came off a couple times," the Arkansas native revealed to GAC. "So, she got me a new ring and she got engraved in it some lyrics, 'I can love you the best.'"
  • Moore admitted to GAC that he tried not to get too soft with this romantic ballad. "It sounds different than anything I've ever cut," he acknowledged. "I was listening to a ZZ Top song, 'Rough Boy,' and I just liked the groove of it and I thought 'Well, that still sounds tough. I could sing something like that.' So, we sat and wrote that song. I think it came out good."
  • This is one of several hits picked out for Justin by Kate. "I have to give credit to my wife," he said. "She's the one that told me it was time for me to do something different. And thankfully I listened, which she'll tell you I don't do very often. But my wife's right a lot more than I am, I'll admit that. But she calls them pretty good. She called 'Small Town U.S.A.' and "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away.' She's like, 'Those are #1s.'"
