Songfacts®:

  • Justine Skye enlisted Jeremih to duet with her on this track. She explained to Billboard: "I chose [Jeremih] because I think he's a dope artist and I also think our voices sound well together. I'm definitely a huge Jeremih fan."
  • The song finds Justine Skye unable to let go of her feelings for an old lover.

You don't miss a good thing until it's gone
You don't take me serious until I'm done
You don't miss a good thing until it's gone
And you don't take me serious until I'm done.

Skye said: "I'm pretty sure we've all had a situation where a certain ex or person finds their way back in your life. I've realized that it's not about dwelling over it and overthinking."
  • Directed by Grizz Lee, the video chronicles the happier times at the beginning of a loving relationship before the pair break up. Rotimi from the Starz original series Power plays Justine Skye's love interest in the clip. The visual was shot days before the singer was scheduled to start filming her first acting role in Green Dolphin. She told Billboard:

"I got Rotimi because I wanted an actor. I knew there was going to be some improvisation, there was no script. I wanted someone to work off of, because the next day I was going on set to shoot a movie.

I wanted someone that could help me. I was nervous when I knew I had to be in bed with a guy, because I'm that awkward girl. Honestly, he made me feel super-comfortable, and when the video was going, we were cracking jokes the whole time."
  • The video was shot in Justine Skye's home city. "I definitely had to take the video back to Brooklyn," she said. "A lot of people don't know I'm from there, and I wanted to get that point across. I haven't shot a video in Brooklyn, too."
