  • The band's name comes from Linda Kasabian, a member of the Manson Family cult who later turned state's witness. The name was picked by then-guitarist Chris Karloff who'd been reading up on Charles Manson and thought it sounded "cool."
  • Much of their self-titled debut album was recorded in a farmhouse in their home county, with cables running through kitchens and bedrooms. That DIY setup gave the record its raw, psychedelic edge.
  • On Oasis's final tour in 2009, Kasabian were the support act. After Oasis split mid-tour, Kasabian cheekily started blasting "Champagne Supernova" over the PA after their sets.
  • They're huge Leicester City FC fans. When Leicester won the Premier League in 2016, Kasabian played a free victory gig at the King Power Stadium. Their song "Fire" had been used as the club's goal anthem since 2009.
  • In 2020, frontman Tom Meighan left the band after pleading guilty to assault. Sege Pizzorno, already the main songwriter, stepped into the lead singer role from then on.
  • Pizzorno often approaches Kasabian's music like a film director, drawing on cinematic influences for mood and scope. Spaghetti westerns echo through tracks like "(Mortis)"; Stanley Kubrick's stark vision shaped the atmosphere of their 48:13 album; and the surreal menace of Italian giallo cinema has left its mark on songs like "West Ryder Silver Bullet."
  • Kasabian's music has been used extensively in sports broadcasts. Both "Club Foot" and "G.O.A.T" have been chosen at various times by Sky Sports for their Premier League coverage.
