Songfacts®:

  • Katie Armiger wrote this song with soulful husband-and-wife songwriting team Ricky and Micol Davis who perform and record as Blue Mother Tupelo. The song finds Armiger taking a romantic gamble in falling for someone who most likely will break her heart, whilst acknowledging that the relationship could end up burning her.
  • The song was released as the second single from Armiger's fourth album, Fall Into Me. She told The Boot that she chose the title as an "overall representation" of all 14 tracks. "This album revolves around love," she explained, "whether it's falling in love or falling out of love, you're always falling into something."
  • The video was directed by Stephen Shepherd, and finds Armiger using a blow torch, as she sings the song in front of a wall of fire.
