Songfacts®:

  • Katy B addresses here the end of a three-year relationship. "I felt we were going to be each other for ever," she told NME. "That song is about that specific moment when you know you're going to break apart. It's me saying: 'You hurt me so much that I can't walk away from you crying. I'm not going to let you have that last dig at me. I need to be strong."
  • The song was helmed by London based producer Mssingno and Rinse FM founder Geeneus. The latter is a frequent collaborator of Katy's, having worked on many of the cuts from her first two albums.
  • Mssingno told Fader: "I knew if I kept my idea simple and spacious it would work with her voice. As soon as we had chosen the beat she had written the first verse in 10 minutes. I love how the song has ended up - it's kind of a lullaby and ballad at the same time."
