Songfacts®:

  • This song was produced by Katy B's frequent collaborator, Geeneus. The producer and DJ started the London underground radio station Rinse FM, which provided the first exposure to Dizzee Rascal and Wiley, when he was just 16. Katy B told NME: "He made the beat and I was like, 'YES DEFINITELY.' I walked into the studio and I was like, 'What is this? This tune is sick' It sounds really dark but it just really makes you want to dance."
Released as the lead single from her second studio album, the track was premiered on May 10, 2013 on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show and was officially released on iTunes on July 8, 2013 through Rinse/Columbia.
  • Geeneus originally wrote this for Sugababes. Katy told Q magazine: "G said it was for someone else. I was like, 'Yeah, I'm taking that.'"
  • When Katy sings "What you've got there cookin' up, come give me my dose," many think she's singing, "come give me my toast."
