Songfacts®:

  • Mike & Molly is an American sitcom, which premiered on CBS on September 20, 2010. The series stars Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy as the title characters. The opening theme tune "I See Love" is sung by American blues singer-songwriter and guitarist Keb' Mo,' who also wrote the song with singer-songwriter Josh Kelley.
  • Josh Kelley explained how the song came to be used by the show: "The 'Mike & Molly' theme song came around sort of randomly," he said. "In 2004, I called up Keb' Mo' and said, 'I'd really love to write a song with you.' He called me back and said, 'Let's do it.' I drove up to his house and we sat around for a while and we wrote this song called 'I See Love.' Then he called me and he said Chuck Lorre came out to one of his shows and he really loved that song. He said, 'Looks like he's going to use it for the theme song.' I had to put something down, because I was smiling ear to ear, and I said, 'That's awesome, dude.'"
