Songfacts®:

  • The title track and opening song of Keith Richards' third solo album Crosseyed Heart, this is a tribute to one of the Rolling Stones guitarist's heroes. He told Uncut: "The 'Crosseyed Heart' one came because I wanted to start it off where basically all the music that I know and I've played came from. One of the wellsprings was Robert Johnson, and I've always wanted to do something in his style, so 'Crosseyed Heart' came from that."
  • Crosseyed Heart debuted at #11 on the US album chart with 34,000 units sold. That sum was Richards' largest sales week since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991. It was also the Stones guitarist's highest charting solo album ever, overtaking 1988's Talk Is Cheap, which peaked at #24.
