Songfacts®:

  • This Blu Sanders, Natalie Hemby and Lindsay Chapman penned mid-tempo tune finds Clarkson duetting with American Country singer-songwriter Vince Gill. The song was released as the second single from Clarkson's Greatest Hits - Chapter One album on October 30, 2012.
Clarkson and Gill performed the song for the first time on the 46th annual Country Music Association Awards on November 1, 2012.
  • Clarkson has several ties to the Nashville scene. Her manager, Narvel Blackstock, for instance, is married to Reba McEntire and she paired-up with the Country star on the 2007 country version of "Because Of You." Other duets by Clarkson with Country artists include pairing up with Jason Aldean on his hit single "Don't You Wanna Stay," and Blake Shelton on his 2012 Christmas song "There's A New Kid In Town." Clarkson also recorded a separate Country version of her Pop hit, "Mr. Know It All."
  • Clarkson told Billboard magazine the song was specifically targeted for the Country market. "People have been wanting me to release something specifically for Country radio for years, but I didn't want to just release something that has a steel guitar on it," she said. "I wanted to release something I'm proud of, and we finally found that song. It's my favorite kind of Country music; it's like '80s, '90s Country music, that throwback, two-steppin' style. And I'm freakin' stoked I got Vince Gill to sing on it with me, so I win 'cause he's like one of my favorite people."
