Songfacts®:

  • Cudi's update of Man on the Moon's lonely anthem, "Solo Dolo (Nightmare)" allows guest rapper Kendrick Lamar to run with the tune. The Cleveland rapper recalled to MTV News that when the Compton MC showed up at the studio he only had one verse written, and no hook, and from there everything came together organically. "The focus was on producing the record for Kendrick," said Cudi. "I wanted to shine as a producer first. I wanted to show that side off more than anything else and that's why I had my one verse then let Kendrick go ape-s--t crazy all over the rest of it."
  • This contains a sample of the Bill Conto composition "Going the Distance", as performed by the Menahan Street Band.
