Songfacts®:

  • Lead singer Caleb Followill details here traveling all around the world only to lose himself and find a girl. He recounted to Q magazine that the song features the sound of him "playing a Perrier bottle with my wedding ring" as producer Markus Dravs taped layers of percussion to create a carnival atmosphere.
  • "Around The World"' was first previewed when the Kings Of Leon played it live on the September 13, 2016 episode of BBC2's Later With Jools Holland.
  • The jaunty song is one of the most radio-friendly tunes that the band has ever recorded. Drummer Nathan Followill commented to the BBC:

"We definitely knew that had the potential to be a fun song for festivals. We play so many festivals that, when we make records, we kind of have that in the back of our minds. Obviously, we were all smiling very big the day we recorded that one."
