Songfacts®:

  • And don't go changin' on me, baby
'Cause this world is turnin' crazy
I'll stay your boy, you stay my lady

Kip Moore wrote this chugging rock track with longtime collaborators Westin Davis ("I'm to Blame," "Guitar Man") and Blair Daly ("Beer Money," "Running for You"). It came out of a conversation they were having about how their contemporaries seem to be more fickle than previous generations. Moore explained to The Boot:

"There was a specific subject that we were talking about, and how it just feels like people are getting more and more flighty, a little more scared to stand on their backbone. Whatever their truth is, whatever they believe in, they'll be afraid to, like, don't let everybody around you sway you, and that's kind of what we were speaking on."
  • Moore, Davis and Daly wrote the song in late 2019, four or five months before the COVID pandemic started wreaking havoc. It was one of the last songs that he wrote for Wild World and though it didn't make the standard record's tracklisting, it was one of four new songs included on the deluxe edition. Noting how appropriate the lyrics are for life during the coronavirus era, Moore released it as a single on October 30, 2020.
  • Alex Ferrari directed the gritty video, which shows Moore and his band performing the song at five independently owned clubs across Nashville with no audience. The clip acts as a call to action to fans to help support and donate to Music Venue Alliance Nashville.
