Songfacts®:

  • Krewella are a Chicago based electronic dance music group comprising sister vocalists Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf and beatmaker Rain Man (Kris Trindl). Founded in 2007, when the trio was each still attending school and working day jobs, they released their first EP Play Hard on June 18, 2012 exclusively on Beatport. The EP debuted at #1 on the online music store's chart and its success landed Krewella a contract with Columbia Records. This is the first single released from the EP, which soon took off at mainstream pop radio and gave the trio their first Hot 100 entry.
  • The Yousaf sisters write the lyrics for Krewella's songs. Asked by DJZ what inspires their lyrical content, Yasmine replied: "Life in general. Just experiences, really." She added: "We're sisters; we go through a lot of the same stuff. So I don't know, a lot of the time we just write what we feel. Sometimes it's just getting out a feeling-A rage feeling, a happy feeling, a sad feeling."
