  • Electronic dance music group Krewella teamed up with their fellow Chicago native, Fall Out Boy vocalist Patrick Stump, to pen this song. "Working with Patrick was so cool because he really opened the door to new styles of writing for us," said vocalist Jahan Yousaf to Radio.com. "It inspired us to resurrect an older song, 'Dancing with the Devil,' that we never knew how to finish. [Stump] really helped and guided us in that direction, to turn it into the very pop-punk, metal-inspired song that's on the album."

The Play Hard track also features blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
  • Asked about the collaboration by HMV.com, Krewella said: "Being in the studio with Patrick Stump for 'Dancing with the Devil' was such a therapy session! We spent about 45 minutes letting everything off our chest, jotting down notes of phrases and one-liners, and Patrick had a magical way of helping us piece all the ideas together."

They added: "Our Travis Barker relationship was through the email by exchanging stems back and forth- hopefully we'll get to meet him in person someday!"
