• This is the official first single by American Idol season 8 winner, Kris Allen, from his sophomore studio album. Kris wrote the song with The Messengers production team, Nasri and Adam Messinger, who have also worked with Chris Brown and Justin Bieber. Speaking with Katie Krause of Clevver News before its release, Allen said the single is an, "uplifting song... a world song that's about people being good to each other."
• A remix for the track by Finnish duo Maison and Dragen leaked online on January 25, 2012, garnering significant attention on the Internet.
• The Thank You Camellia album title is a reference to the home that Allen shared in Los Angeles, where he wrote the majority of the songs featured on the record. The supportive friends he stayed with live on a street called Camellia.
• Before recording his sophomore album, Allen visited Rwanda to deliver shoes to those in need and he has also done work for such non-profits as Music Empowers and The Trevor Project. The singer explained that this inspirational tune about helping others reflects how he feels about giving back. "If we see someone going through something terrible, whether it's a friend or a kid in another country with no food, do we do something? Are we going to do help our neighbor who can't put food on the table? We can't just sit around and do nothing," he said.
  
  "We shot the video for 'The Vision of Love' in downtown L.A. and there was a guy nearby handing out food to homeless people," Allen added. "I thought, 'That's what the song is about. It's not about me dancing around on the roof of this building.' It's about giving back in some way and, as cheesy as it may sound, the world living in harmony and peace."
