Songfacts®:

  • This song is a collaboration between French house artist Kungs (pronounced Koongs) and Melbourne, Australia funk trio Cookin' on 3 Burners. It is a sped up reworking of Cookin' on 3 Burners' deep soul classic, which they recorded in 2009 with vocals by Kylie Auldist.
  • The song was released on February 19, 2016 as a digital download by House of Barclay. It topped the charts in France and reached the Top 10 in many other European countries. Kungs told Billboard magazine he was excited to watch the song blow up:

"It's a track I produced in my bedroom one year ago," he said. "I just heard this track on YouTube and I fell in love with it. I told myself that I really had to remix it and to add my personal touch to it; I didn't expect such success. It was a strange blend and I thought that people wouldn't understand the track, so I was really happy when I saw that the radio was playing it."
  • Kylie Auldist sings here of a rich guy trying to buy her love with gifts. He is failing to win her affections as for her there's nothing more precious than a "heart that's real and a heart that's true."
