Songfacts®:

  • Kyle Dion is a Fort Lauderdale, Florida singer-songwriter who describes his music as "Jazzy Alternative R&B" This is his debut single.
  • The track "came about shortly after my birthday," Dion told Billboard magazine. "I recently turned 20, and I think every ten years you just reflect on what you've done in your life and what you want to do in the future. I symbolized that goal as 'purple meadows,' because when I thought of a purple meadow, I thought of tranquility, peace and that all fits in with the feeling of self-accomplishment."
  • The song is included on Dion's Sixes & Sevens mix-tape, whose title is derived from an Old English term that describes a state of disarray. He explained, "I tied that into the mix-tape because I've had lots of confusion over the years trying to find myself as a person and as an artist, what kind of music I want to make and how I want to portray myself to the public, supporters, the fans that are here now and new fans that will come. So title shows that I've found myself and who I am through all the confusion."
