• The name "Kyuss" is the name of an undead monster from a Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game book, Fiend Folio.
• Kyuss would often throw "generator parties" in secluded areas of California's Palm Desert, in which gasoline-driven generators powered their instruments' amplification.
• To obtain his heavy and booming guitar sound, Josh Homme played through a Marshall amp and Ampeg bass cabinet on Kyuss' classic Blues for the Red Sun release.
• Kyuss opened up an Australian leg of Metallica's seemingly never-ending tour in support of The Black Album, during early 1993.
• From their second studio album (Blues for the Red Sun) until their last (...And the Circus Leaves Town), Masters of Reality leader Chris Goss served as co-producer with the band.
• Kyuss' final album, ...And the Circus Leaves Town, contains a hidden track at the end, "Day One," which is dedicated to surviving Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl.
• Between the break-up of Kyuss and the formation of Queens of the Stone Age, Josh Homme briefly served as second guitarist for the Screaming Trees.
• John Garcia, Brant Bjork, and Nick Oliveri would later form Kyuss Lives, a group that performed Kyuss classics in concert. However, in 2012, Josh Homme and Scott Reeder filed a federal lawsuit against Garcia and Bjork, alleging "trademark infringement and consumer fraud" over the use of the Kyuss Lives name. Eventually, Kyuss Lives would be rechristened Vista Chino.
