Songfacts®:

  • Lana Del Rey was raised in the small New York town of Lake Placid and moved to Los Angeles in 2012. Here, she's struggling to deal with big-city life and is ready to leave the City of Angels for somewhere smaller and quieter, 80 miles or so away. She asks her romantic interest to come along with her; the songstress is unconcerned where they end up as long as they're together.

During the chorus, Del Rey offers the man a simple life away from Los Angeles where she will give him her womanly care and devotion in exchange for his love, kindness and attention, asking that he talk to her "in poems and songs."
  • Lana Del Rey's first new song since 2019's Norman F--king Rockwell, she wrote and produced "Let Me Love You Like A Woman" with Jack Antonoff at Los Angeles' Conway Studios and New York's Electric Lady Studios. The Bleachers lead singer and frequent Taylor Swift producer previously collaborated with Del Rey on 11 of the 14 songs on her Norman Rockwell album.
  • Del Rey first mentioned the song during an October 2019 interview with Q magazine just two months after the release of Norman Rockwell. She said at the time: "There's just something about it. I feel like it's going to be really important, but I don't know why yet. That's where the magic comes in."
