Songfacts®:

  • LeAnn Rimes co-wrote this moody, soulful track with Nashville songwriter Darrell Brown (Keith Urban's "You'll Think Of Me", Josh Turner's "Why Don't We Just Dance") and British hitmaker Paul Barry (Cher's "Believe," Enrique Iglesias' "Hero.") Rimes' lyrics were inspired by her stepsons, Mason and Jake, the children of her husband, Eddie Cibrian.

"At first I wanted to write about being a stepmom to my stepsons … letting them know that we were bound not by a bloodline but by a love line," the singer explained to The Boot. "After the song was finished and I could step back and really listen to it, I realized that the song was not just for them but for everyone, that we are all bound together by love."
  • Remnants, Rimes' 13th studio album, was her first released through RCA UK after her longtime association with Curb Records ended.
