Album: Swamp Bait (1974)

Songfacts®:

  • Not to be confused with the Keith Urban number of the same name, "Desiree" is the theme song from a low budget "hixploitation" flick. Swamp Bait - originally called Gator Bait - was released in June 1974. A truly awful film, the music is easily the best thing about it. It was written by Ferd Sebastian, who along with his wife Beverly was responsible for the film. "Desiree" was performed by Lee Darin; the lady herself is the heroine who along with her two younger siblings lives in the wilds making a living poaching until something terrible happens. >>>
