Songfacts®:

  • Here, Leigh-Anne teams up with Nigerian singer-songwriter Ayra Starr for a celebration of Afrobeats. Over relentlessly vibrating rhythms, the pair sing about the power and passion of love.

"It's a celebration of love, every type of love," Leigh-Anne told Capital FM presenter Rio Fredrika. "I love really deep and really hard, but I feel like the love that matters the most is self love. It's powerful, it's strong and it's a really empowering song."
  • Leigh-Anne and Syra Starr wrote "My Love" with English singer-songwriter Dyo, Babyface collaborator Kameron Glasper, and the song's producers Prgrshn, Khristopher Riddick-Tynes, Alex Goldblatt, and Magicsticks.

One of Stormzy's go-to producers, Prgrshn co-produced 10 out of the 12 tracks on the rapper's 2022 This Is What I Mean album.

Khristopher Riddick-Tynes is part of the production duo The Rascals with Leon Thomas III. He has produced songs for Ariana Grande ("Snow In California"), Jessie Reyez ("Body Count") and SZA ("Snooze").

Indiana producer Alex Goldblatt's other credits include Bankrol Hayden's "Cabo" and 6lack's "Decatur."

Nigerian producer Magicsticks has formed a successful artist-producer combo with the Lagos-based singer-songwriter Asake, and also has credits on songs by Davido and DJ Neptune.
  • The song's Meji Alabi-directed music video was filmed in Lagos, Nigeria, and features local dancers from the area. It celebrates Afrobeats culture and features vibrant colors, traditional Nigerian clothing, and dancing.

Meji Alabi also directed the video for Stormzy's "Hide & Seek" and co-directed the video for Beyoncé's "Brown Skin Girl."
