  • Here, a reflective Liam Gallagher looks back at past moments in a relationship that are unlikely to be replicated.

I remember how you used to shine back then
You went down so easy like a glass of wine, my friend
When the dawn came up, you felt so inspired to do it again
But it turns out you only get to do it once

It is likely that Liam Gallagher is reminiscing about the early days of Oasis when he and his brother Noel were close. Sadly, as the band's fame increased, so did the tension between the two siblings, leading to their infamous falling out in 2009. Now that their relationship is permanently tarnished, Gallagher is looking back at those carefree times as a once-in-a-lifetime moment that won't ever be repeated.
  • Liam Gallagher penned the song with Andrew Wyatt, the co-writer on Lady Gaga's "Shallow." Wyatt also produced the track, incorporating lilting acoustics and swooping strings into the instrumentation.
  • Eric Cantona stars in the music video, while Liam co-stars as his butler. Despite famously supporting United's rivals Manchester City, Gallagher took the opportunity to recruit the cult footballer after Cantona shared an Instagram video of himself singing along to the track. Captured in one continuous shot, the clip shows the Manchester United footballer turned actor passionately singing the track as he wanders through his vast palace. The visual encapsulates the message of the song: a nostalgic yearning for happier times.
  • Gallagher's longtime collaborator Charlie Lightening (As It Was 2019 documentary) directed the video. He has also worked with Arcade Fire ("Ready to Start") and The Script ("No Good in Goodbye").
  • The video is soundtracked by an acoustic version of "Once," which features on Gallagher's 2020 Acoustic Sessions EP. Said Gallagher: "This is the original demo. It's my favorite version; it's silky smooth and it's fizzy bubblech. Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream!"
