  • With this sexy urban jam, Liam Payne became the final member of One Direction to release solo material - the song was issued on May 19, 2017. Recorded at Rokstone Studios in London, the track features Quavo - a founding member of the US hip-hop group Migos.
  • Liam Payne co-wrote the song with Ed Sheeran. The carrot-topped singer-songwriter has previously penned several songs for One Direction, including the Take Me Home tracks "Little Things" and "Over Again," as well as "18" from their Four album.

The collaboration was sparked by an unexpected call from Sheeran in the late summer of 2016. "I was in a gym in LA, and I got a call that said 'You have to get to London now,'" Payne recalled to Billboard magazine. "And we had literally just gotten to L.A., so we U-turned straight back to London — which of course you do for Mr. Ed Sheeran, because I'd do anything for the man. We went in, sat around and discussed a bunch of things about life, and [the song] basically just came together."
  • Pop producer Steve Mac co-wrote the song and was also the guy behind the mixing desk. He previously worked with Ed Sheeran on the latter's smash hit "Shape Of You."
  • Did you catch the apparent 1D dis during the pre-chorus?

You know, I used to be in 1D (now I'm out, free)
People want me for one thing (that's not me)
I'm not changing, the way, that I (used to be)
I just wanna have fun (and get rowdy)

Speaking on The Sun newspaper's Bizarre Life podcast, Liam insisted he isn't turning on the band: "I never wanted it to be taken in a negative light," he explained. "First of all I thought a hiatus was some sort of religious thing, so when they said hiatus I thought we were all going to turn into monks or something."

"But I actually think the hiatus works out best for everyone because we all get to explore our music," Liam continued. "But we will get back together at a certain point."
  • Part of the song is based around an interpolation of Shaggy's 2001 chart-topping single "It Wasn't Me." The melody of the 1D referencing pre-chorus section mirrors the bridge on "It Wasn't Me."
  • Ed Sheeran also contributes uncredited vocals. That's him singing "Strip that down, girl."
  • Liam Payne performed the song for the first time on the May 26, 2017 episode of BBC's The Graham Norton Show.
